‘People would tell me I was trapped. Scared.
I prefer the term ‘sandwiched’. Sat within the filling of two bits of bread. Maybe a strawberry jam. And a decent wholemeal loaf’
P has decided to never leave her room ever again.
Feeling like the world is swallowing her up, P lets us into her bedroom – her safe space – and shows us the joys of having complete control over your environment. P creates her own world, in the same way you make your own sandwich. Sometimes you want to eat the same thing every day. Until that ‘thing’ begins to eat you.
You can’t eat the same thing every day.
Using food, movement and spoken word, Sandwiched explores themes of depression, agoraphobia and the realities of being scared of the world you live in.
