Intolerable Side Effects
Intolerable Side Effects is an absurd one-woman clown show about female contraception and its side effects. It transposes human experience into the world of a rabbit, resulting in a show that is distinctive for its comic value as well as its social heart.
Diane, a young rabbit keen to do what rabbits do best (yes, sex, although she does also love wiggling her cotton-tail), is also keen not to have a litter. Diane finds herself in the GUM clinic being advised to take ‘Celery’ as a form of ‘Vegetation Separation’. However, ‘Celery’ causes some bizarre and unpleasant side effects for Diane, who finds that it hinders her dating and sex-life significantly more than it helps…
This is Lecoq-trained-clown Claire Parry's debut solo-show.
