From Beyond
PART OF THE LONDON LOVECRAFT FESTIVAL
"What do we know of the world and the universe about us? We see things only as our flesh has constructed us to see them."
London, 1920. In an attic laboratory of an ageing townhouse, a machine hums an otherworldly tune.
Crawford Tillinghast, a prodigious mind, broken and forever altered by the effects of The Great War, pursues the creation of a machine that will reveal the hidden architecture of reality and bring about humanity's salvation.
When Robert Clark, fellow student and veteran, arrives to check on him, their reunion is bathed in discomfort.
Clinging to his faith and haunted by shame, he attempts to save the friend he once knew. But not all is as it seems, as outside forces curdle friendship into suspicion. Between them stands The Butler, a menacing, spectral observer who sees more than he should and appears to be more than he reveals.
As the reunion unravels, all three come closer to activating Crawford's invention. Through fractured memories, surreal imagery and strange ritual, what ensues is a confrontation with forces beyond human understanding. Blending psychological drama and cosmic horror, From Beyond takes you on a descent into the unknown - where spirituality and science bleed together.
